Saxpak started by chance during a London Sinfonietta concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 1986 with persuasion from conductor Sir Simon Rattle. Their unusual septet arrangements were so well received the players were encouraged to continue performing together ever since.

Saxpak has performed at many venues including the Barbican, National Theatre, Festival Hall plus many outdoor locations and with the continuing help of arranger Ted White have developed a diverse repertoire of pieces, from classical to jazz to popular works.

The typical line up includes some of Britain’s finest instrumentalists - Richard Addison, Andy Findon, Tim Holmes, Stephen Pierce, Peter Ripper, Stan Sulzmann and David White.
