KERNOW STRING QUARTET

Kernow String Quartet are four experienced musicians who provide quality music for all events, friendly advice on choice of music and an added ambience to your special occasion. Philip Montgomery-Smith, 1st violin, studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and is a Peripatetic violin teacher and Advanced Skilled teacher of Curriculum music in Cornwall. Karen Frost, 2nd Violin, studied violin at Dartington College of Arts with Colin Sauer and has over 25 years performing and teaching experience. Christopher Prindl, Viola, comes from a long line of string players, studied East Asian Studies at Princeton University, by day he is a professional potter and teaches Japanese Barbara Degener, Cello, studied in Germany with Wolfgang Borggrefe, Heinrich Schiff, William Pleeth (U.K.), Janos Starker (U.S.A), Uzi Wiesel (Israel) and the Amadeus Quartet. Barbara teaches cello for Cornwall Music Service, performs with various ensembles and conducts the Atlantic String Orchestra in North Cornwall.
